I cannot get 5308 to install.
I have burned the image to a DVD - the disc is fine, i've checked the data integrity etc.
When I go through to the custom install and try to choose my partiotion, whichever one I try to select (plenty of free space on all), I get the error message:
"Unable to determine size of installation image. Please verify that the image is still accessible and try again".
I notice each time I click a partition it appears to try to pop up a dialog box/error message (the screen flickers), but it never is visible for more than 1 microsecond.
I tried deleting and recreating the partition, formatting. Nothing seems to work. Get the same error from within the windows install util as with the PE setup util.
Seems plenty of other people have been getting this error.
Any ideas?

I cannot install either, but the error message is different:
"An error occured while copying Setup files onto your local machine. Error code is [80070570]"
It occurs after the progress bar moves by about 5%.
(The December build installs on the same computer without problems).
Has anyone managed to install build 5308 successfully?

I got that too... try copying the contents of the DVD (or extract the ISO) into a folder on the C: drive - that makes life easier. Also if you use Daemon Tools to emulate the DVD as a drive, that might also help. www.daemon-tools.cc

I get the same error. I'm trying to install it on a separate drive.
In other postings I've come across comments about needing a partition with 16GB free - my drive is only a 14GB one and none of my other partitions have 16GB free.
Do you have that much free space on your drives?

Yes, I tried to install it on a clean 30GB drive.

I've replaced the hard drive with another one, and this time Vista installed OK. Apparently, Vista did not like something about the previous hard drive. Scanning the drive under XP revealed no problems with it. Seems like Vista is much more sensitive to hardware imperfections than XP...
